If you've accidentally deleted files, and want to recover them, you'll find Glary Undelete a very helpful utility. Deleted files and then emptied the Recycle Bin? No problem. This free program will find them for you and restore them. It'll even find files you've deleted from a DOS window. Its developer even claims it will find files that have been deleted by viruses or bugs, although I couldn't confirm that.

When Glary Undelete finds files that have been deleted, it tells you their name, location when they were deleted, date they were last modified, file type, and so on. Better yet, it tells you the "state" of the deleted file--the likelihood that you'll be able to restore it. To restore a file, select it, click Restore, and you're done. There's also a very good "filter" tool that lets you view only certain files that have been deleted, for example, by date, size, file extension, and so on.
